Making Learning Visible

St James is strongly committed to making learning visible for students. The focus is to build our collective capacity to embed the practices that make learning visible in every classroom across our school. It is all about knowing the impact of our teaching on each student's learning and responding to our learners to move their learning forward.

Teachers at St James make learning visible to students by explicitly discussing the Learning Intentions and Success Criteria. Together with the students, they create learning goals to ensure that all students grow and reach their potential.

St James uses three High Yield Strategies to evaluate the impact of teaching and leadership based on the learning progress of each student. Those strategies are: Using Data to Lead Learning; Review and Response Cycles and Learning Walks and Talks.
