Drop Off and Pick Up Procedures

One of our biggest challenges is the safety and efficiency of the Drop-Off and Pick-Up procedures for our students. We thank our families for their understanding and adoption of new practices currently in place around the school – in particular, before and after school. Below are listed some reminders for our families at these busy times of the school day.

  • Families are asked to ensure that their child/ren are ready to exit the vehicle and move to the school gate with the supervision of Mrs Butler.
  • We have a roster of Year 6 students who assist at the gate allowing students to enter immediately, with the area supervised by the teacher on duty on the bitumen area.
  • Parents are asked to move off from the Drop-Off Zone straight away.

  • Families with students in Prep – Year 2 are to be collected from 2:55pm-3:05pm. (Families with siblings in upper years are collected with their younger sibling).
  • We ask families with students in Years 3-6 to arrive in the line after 3:05pm, to allow the younger students to be collected first.
  • Numerous teachers are assisting with the loading of students until 3:20pm. (The zone is usually clear by 3:15pm allowing for a direct run down Kirkland Ave.)

We are very conscious of the safety of the students and ask that families keep reminding their children that they need to be alert and be thinking of others at these times of the day. Take a look and have a chat about our St James Values below, which focusses on practices around Before and After school.
