STEAM Week is back again for it’s sixth year at St James. This year it will run from Monday, 18th October to Friday, 22nd October (Week 3 Term 4). We will once again hold a variety of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths activities from 2 – 3pm on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. We are hopeful that we may be able to ask parents to assist with the running of these activities but will let you know closer to the date.
Our students will also be participating in a whole school incursion with The Science Factory as part of our STEAM Week celebrations. This incursion will be a great educational experience for our students as they will be presented with the opportunity to explore a wide range of exciting and challenging SCIENCE and TECHNOLOGY based activities. The Science Factory provides a range of professionally designed experiences that complement the Australian National Curriculum and year level achievement standards.
We will conclude our STEAM Week with the annual St James Science Fair. Next week all students will receive a letter outlining everything you need to know about the Science Fair as well as an entry form.
Over the last five years we have been lucky enough to have some very generous family and friends of St James share something spectacular with our students. We have had a giant catapult, a racing car and a marine biologist to name a few. If you are or know of someone who may be willing to share their STEAM knowledge with our students, I would love to hear from you. We are looking forward to another sensational celebration of all things STEAM!
