Technology and Learning

At St James, we are committed to preparing students for a dynamic and ever-changing world. Technology is integrated across all year levels, ensuring every child from Prep to Year Six benefits from hands-on experience with contemporary and emerging technologies.

iPads in Every Classroom

Each classroom is equipped with iPads, providing students with opportunities to enhance their learning, collaborate with peers and develop essential digital skills. Our approach ensures technology is used purposefully to support creativity, problem-solving and engagement in every subject area.

Australian Technologies Curriculum

We implement the Australian Technologies Curriculum, which is made up of two key learning areas:

  • Design and Technologies: Students use design thinking and practical skills to create solutions for real-world challenges. This area encourages innovation, resilience, and teamwork.
  • Digital Technologies: Students develop computational thinking and learn how to design and implement digital solutions. Activities include coding, using information systems, and understanding how technology shapes our daily lives.

Preparing Students for Tomorrow

Our Technologies program is practical and engaging, encouraging students to think critically and creatively. Through a variety of hands-on projects and collaborative activities, children are supported to become innovative, independent and confident users of technology.

We believe technology is a powerful tool for learning and personal growth. Our goal is to nurture students who are adaptable, responsible, and ready to thrive in a digital world.
