St James Catholic Primary School was established by the people of Coorparoo Parish Community to provide for the educational needs of the children of Parish families. The primary purpose of the school is to nurture and educate the whole child through and by the principles, values and traditions of the Catholic Community of Faith. In recognition of the importance of the relationship between the Catholic School and the Parish Community, and with due reference to Archdiocesan policy and practice, the following guidelines are adopted in prioritising enrolment applications:
Children of Catholic families from the parish and school of St James
Children of existing school families who are of a different faith tradition
Children of Catholic families from outside the parish of St James, who identify with this Parish
Children from other parishes and faith traditions.
Children requiring significant educational adjustment are enrolled using the Brisbane Catholic Education Enrolment and Support Procedures for Students requiring Significant Educational Adjustments
The Principal, in consultation with the Parish Priest, may exercise discretion regarding any application and may determine a child's eligibility beyond the stated guidelines.
